“Wolves don’t lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.”
Be sure of this: As you begin to walk and grow and flourish in your purpose, opposition will come.
It most likely won’t come by violent hostility, or be blantantly obvious and in your face. The greatest opposition can come from the sheep, because they are the easiest to ignore.
So how can you recognize the sheep in your life?
Sheep criticize when they’re insecure.
Sheep talk trash when they’re bored (which is often).
Sheep judge your motives because they’ve never been in your position.
Sheep tell you to your face that you’re headed the wrong way, but usually only when they feel threatened by your progress.
Sheep have an awful lot of strong opinions about things they know very little about.
Sheep are always the majority, never the minority.
Sheep are usually wandering in circles or headed for destruction when left to their own devices.
You’re not going to answer for your life with a group of sheep behind you (or with anyone behind you, for that matter).
You’re going to give account before God by yourself.
And I’m pretty sure the excuse of “well I had haters (aka sheep) and they made me insecure and I couldn’t because I cared more about what they thought of me than what You spoke over me” won’t go over very well.
If God has called you, answer.
If God has given you vision, pursue it.
If God has released opportunities, keep pressing forward.
Together.
Alone.
In victory.
In sorrow.
Wherever you’re at, don’t let the sheep be a reason to not pursue greatness.
If God has invited you to the higher work of the wolves, then don’t worry about the opinions of the sheep.
Let the sheep do what sheep do (which is usually just following each other around and falling off cliffs like a bunch of dummies).
They’re not your concern.
You’re not one of them.
So go be a wolf, and do wolf things.
